Merveil

To try to kill Merveil as a summoner sucks balls, even with max cold resists. It's just lame how that fight is so hard but yet I can plow right through Piety with no issues at all.

Did anyone at GGG even test out these fights before launch? Doesn't make sense at all. If you're going to make boss encounters more difficult, don't you think you should consider all of them and not just one or two?

Don't get me wrong, it's a good battle, but why should Merveil be the pinnacle of the game? It's an Act 1 boss. Heck, Dominus is an easier fight than Merveil.

This fight is just really messy. Stage 2 is terrible, if you are out of luck, you will be constantly caged in these stupid pillars. Also, I can't see shit when fighting her.

Honestly, on maps, she is now on my skip-list of bosses. Old battle was little too easy, but at least it wasn't such a clusterfuck, that new fight is.

But anyway, it's pretty obvious to most that the fight against (map-) merveil is a type of fight that excludes quite a few builds. But it's no different than the other hard boss fights.. you skip them unless you have the right build for them, since the reward is not worth the high risk of dying.

Act I Merveil is pretty easy because on Cruel and Merciless Act I is a bit behind the power curve compared to players (and Normal is... well, Normal). On maps she's very nasty though. In my opinion the worst thing with her is her room; it gets really crowded in there with all the adds, ice storms/water pillars, etc. and that damn hole in the middle forces you into tight places which tend to generate desync.

I'm pretty much putting her on my skip list as well.

I know we all have different experiences and I haven't played a summoner so I'm not going to shout "you're doing it wrong" but I find this fight absolutely fine.

You have to move out of the way of choreographed abilities. Water spouts which are easily avoided and her Ice Spear barrage thing. Other than that, I've found each stage to be tank and spank. Sure, it may take a minute or so to complete but thats fine.

To say it's harder than Dom is very weird to me.

I think on Merciless I killed Merveil with below 40% resists across the board.

TLDR: Imo, not overtuned but a well thoughtout, fun fight.

Just for try for see and for know -2013!

the only qualm with merveil is its map version, where the arena seems a bit smaller with less room to evade and also merveil accompanied by adds at the beginning
As a summoner, act1 Merveil can be quite painful now since your minions die almost instantly. Still, there are two choices you can make if you're playing as a witch:

a) Try to invest a bit on aoe spells like fireball before you fight Merveil;

and/or

b) Since your minions die *very* fast at this early stage, rush into Minion Instability keystone in the passive tree;

^ dat. A1M Merveil is easy, but her map version is way off. It is overtunned, not because of the damage or hp she does/have, but because of the stupidly small map, and clunky water slowing you, and blocking your way out. Minions which you have to deal with at the beginning doesn't help.

Last night i did several Graveyards in a row with different characters and for my summoner is a total no-go, she killed all my minions in 1-2 seconds and i was lucky to TP out of there in time.

For my SA/Puncture-archer the fight was "easy", just don't stop, same goes for my ST-characters
