Dominating Blow + Eldrich Battery?

Hi, guys.

I started a new char in Rampage league and decided to use Dominating Blow mechanics. Can i make it with Eldrich battery (and use Cloak of Defiance, probably), or Blood Magic (either keystone or gem - IDK what is better) is the only option (Soul Taker is out of question due to price)?

(made it for 2-hander axe)

your wasting a huge amount of points just trying to get to EB which tbh is not worth it if you arent going to get anything to scale the mana gained.

your better off putting a BM gem on Dominating blow and go for Life regen(can easily get to levels where you regen faster then the life being used)

if you want to do the build without soul taker (although really at endgame you should be looking to get it as it will maximise your build) go blood magic, you can also try a increased duration Vaal Clarity but that would require really good clear speed so you can keep it up at all times.

TY for your feedback. I know that Soul Taker and BM are the most populars ways of managing manacost for DB. I just wanted some feedback from those who tried it with EB already...

ive recently been messing about with it in a 6l tabula rasa on my ground slam character.

with 6l your looking at roughly 300 mana cost for the skill which even with EB is a very high cost skill.

unless you scale the mana crazy amounts you wont be able to keep using it in order to get kills.
i guess if you had something like groundslam to start you off and then moved to vaal clarity you could with the right setup have permanent vaal clarity. this could be a good way to do the build before you get a soul taker.

while dominating blow is a fun skill and one i wish myself to make a build around i feel without a soul taker the only option is to go blood magic gem on it and then stack life regen and life leech to offset the cost.

just EB is not enough, you also need a lot of ES on gear and max mana on talent tree for this to work

but by doing so you only gain one link (blood magic gem), and since DB is not a high dmg skill to begin with, all of the work will be meaning less

I know i need some ES on gear.

So, for extra defence i probably should aim for max block and use 1-hander, right? I mean, instead of EB...

BTW, would it better to use facebreakers?
