Need some help with my Flicker build

Hey guys. SO! Idk if I am just really messing this up or if I don't understand flicker strike. So here is my current gear.




My current passive tree




I have linked in the BoR
Flicker Strike, Melee Splash, Added Fire damage, and multistrike.

My tooltip DPS is only 3k. I clear stuff pretty fast regardless of that number but I see people with like 40k DPS and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here.

Other numbers could be from pre-1.2. Crown of eyes or Abyssus, lowlife blood rage and mirrored daggers with a shitload of crit mult. Soul taker might be nifty for the manasituation, but dmg? Nope.

You might have some more fun if you manage to get phys dmg. on jewellery and gloves though.

when you say, your tooltip dps is only 3k, do you mean damage per hit is 3k?

Flicker strike lists damage per hit.
Your dps with flicker will be that number times your attacks per second.
Not sure what yours is.. but my attack speed on my flicker strike ranger is .12. I get 8.2 attacks per second.

With an average 680 damage per hit, with fairly poor weapons..



My flicker dps is 5,576.
(hatred,herald of ash and ice running.)




1 handed, no DW. 5 frenzies? I would guess you get 5 attacks/second or so.
3k per hit, your dps is probably 15k.
hrm. faster attacks.. may be as many as 8 attacks/s as well? then 24k dps.
