1.2.1 in the wrong direction
Adding even more rewards to level 8 crafting is just utterly the wrong way to go. The way to keep a grind entertaining is to have steady gains... not a long grind to a fantastic end. Move some of the level 8 rewards to lower levels.

" You mean like gaining access to a hideout early on along with a crafting bench, getting a few new mods and new items you can purchase each level, and larger hideouts every few levels? Yeah, they should totally try that...oh wait...
Steady, predictable, boring gains = mmorpg.
Random gains of varying quantities = ARPG.
" So you are suggesting that master gain random benefits after each lvl up :P Actually I would like to change the way masters work. Give them certain global things on level up and do crafting via a random system enabling more and more mods depending on how many daily missions you do. If you are lucky you get the good crafting-stuff early if not you get it later.
How much time have you been levelling up the masters?
How much time do you think is fair? Why do you think the level up benefits are poorly distributed? Add a Forsaken Masters questline

Maybe because leveling masters to level 8 is a fucking chore. 1 month at least, 40 hours a week of doing nothing but tidal island runs.

" GGG nerfed Tidal Island. The idea of the masters was to have something extra do to when playing, the initial obsession to level up them to 8 made it a chore (running tidal island is effective but fucking awful). this 'all for lvl8' design promotes:
- grind - party play - economy so is there anyone surprised? im also quite scared about their meta-mods as this game ALREADY has serious balance issues (daggers..) and now this?
" Spot on. I couldn't even feign surprise this time.
The most ridiculous thing is that you can only remove mods at lvl 8. Should be at lvl 7 tops, which is already quite hard to get to (several months of grind for casual players).
OTOH, this will make more people stay in Std, as getting to lvl 8 in three months (tmp. leagues keep are also shrinking - as per trader/shopper whine) is practically impossible for anyone but nolifers. When night falls
