brutus on merciless

actually _worse_ than tidal island guy. at least you can run away from him, not that it helps as he seems to have +200% cast speed.

is there any warning on his ground spiky thing or that wacky ground slam he's using ?

or is it just designed to make sure you lose 10% at least once ?

as usual i was dying too fast to figure out what was going on.

BTW, ground spikes totally stolen from torchlight 2. but they did a much better job. there was a clear indication that it was coming and if you were paying attention you could _usually_ avoid it. very well balanced.





Granite flask, >2000 hp, dps should do it. I managed it without a granite and about 700 armor in beyond.

And yah, TL2 invented ground spikes. Hope ggg payed their royalties. -_-
Oh really? I noticed "desync" pillars are gone and that the fight was reworked but havent found it to be more difficult.. depends on build probably

I was really happy with Brutus on merciless. Boss fights are actually starting to feel like a challenge. I would be down for an indication on spikes though.

Anyway, I dont; find new Brutus any harder. Probably depends on your build and gear. At the end all Merc Brutus, Kole or that monkey at first Act3 stage are all suppose to be cakewalk later on when you start doing maps.
i was using a PA build with zombies (and was in a group).

i kept the zombies going the whole time. kept vulnerability on him the whole time.

and 2 tanks were on him the whole time.

didn't matter 2-3 hits from spikes and groundslam and you're dead.

had about 1.6k life which is hardly terrible.

no granite flask though. aaah the joys of self-found...

On the contrary at Merciless 1.6k life is awfully terrible x_X
I even remember groudspikes in LotRo ^^

1.6k hp in merc is pretty bad unless you have a shit ton of ES.
