defend the relic (feed souls)

I want to encoourage ggg looking into this quest again.
I had this quest with my Cleave/sweep char.
Even i had no problems with killspeed (onehit kills) i coulnt solve the quest due to Souls-feeding. i guess i have to kill mobs inside the relic circle, but what can i do if
they are 80% ranged casters that hang outside of that said circle?

They simply bomb away the relic and i cant jump fast enough from side to side to get rid of em.

Nope, the relic-defends suck for melees in general. As a ranged char it is fairly easy. Actually most master quests are a lot easier as ranged than as melee... except for Haku they suck with both :P
