1h mace/shield fire damage (infernal blow spamming)

Hey all,

Has anyone tested out how well a marauder based around 1h mace/shield with high attack speed, elemental damage, mace damage and spamming infernal blow does? I would look to be buffing up the ele damage/fire damage output through the passive tree.

What types of things would you be able to augment infernal blow with that would cause more AOE damage? Is the explosion treated as a projectile, so I could use something like lmp/chain/fork to further spread the blast wave off an exploding corpse?

Just starting to think towards my next character.

How does the base damage of these 2 compare? LS I can have 3 bolts coming out to hit 3 further back. IB its is > 3 it can do damage to base, correct? I also think that from the marauder tree I might be able to get more fire dmg for less skill points.
