Vaal Pact - How does this keystone work?

In its current state after the nerf of AoE leech when they changed life leech. Could i get a dev response please.

In the wiki it says that the highest hit is used for the total life leech, even if it goes instant, the stacks should still be there right? so that means still the highest hit is calculated for the total life leech, and still does not make life leech more effective on area effect in the sense you get full leech off of every monster.

I don't think it works with area effect, but have had multiple people say it does, but I still feel like even though it is instant it still uses a stack system for the highest hit, because the damage is also applied instantly.

The wiki is talking about plain old Leech. VP works like Life Gain on Hit. Every Hit leeches for the full amount, minus VP's penalty.

It never says that on the wiki that it becomes life gain on hit... it just says that it removes the

Multiple leech effects
Separate applications of life leech do not stack cumulatively. Each life leech effect remains present on the character until it runs its course, but only one with the highest recovery rate will actually restore life at any given moment.

exactly, it converts leech to gain on hit at a 60% loss. life gain on hit is instant and doesn't care how many hits.

alternatively, vaal path grants you percentage based life gain on hit from 40% of life leech, then removes prevents life leech (and regen and flasks) from working.

They used to, but you're right that they removed that a patch or two ago.
You cannot have two Leech effects active at the same time. We're well aware.
VP makes your Leech effects exactly zero seconds long.

No matter how many Hits you land, no matter how simultaneous, they are resolved sequentially. Hit 1 lands, deals Damage, Leeches instantly, Hit 2 lands, deals Damage, Leeches instantly. There is no overlap in Leech effects, because they have no duration.
I really wish a dev would comment on this, because I would still like a source, never says anything on the wiki or anywhere else about stacks now having a effect. Even if you do get the leech from AoE, It still would be nice to have this documented somewhere, because at least as a streamer I get a lot of questions about vaal pact all the time, so having some source for vaal pact other then just guessing from what you noticed from damage. Not saying anyone is wrong, just would like the documentation instead of opinions based on little data observed from hitting things.

The way leech applies to the player has changed. If you leech additional life while currently leeching, it no longer queues after the current leech. Technically, where multiple leeches are stacked, the largest one is used.
