" Tbh I'm not sure what offensive curse would be best, projectile weakness, or elemental weakness or fire resist curse... That said I will probably use only one curse, enfeeble or temporal chains for more survivability due to being in beyond HC ladder. | |
Your build looks very interesting!
It works with a Unique I had never seen. I ran some numbers (Excel freak here) and this scales a bit poorly in the end, due to its very low base damage, unless you add serious speed and serious flat damage. I was playing around and a 700 strength setup with iron will and all that will grant easy over 1500% inc dmg. This is great but for the very low 40 DPS the staff has as a base, it is not enough. Flat damage is mandatory, but still falls short (3500 phys DPS base) with some gear. Cut some damage nodes, added some speed nodes (you REALLY NEED WRECKING BALL!) and jumped it to 5000 base DPS. There is one problem. To make this work, I can't avoid using: Abyssus Ezomyte Burgonet Level: 60 Strength: 138 Adds 40-60 Physical Damage +24 to all Attributes 150% increased Critical Strike Multiplier with Melee Weapons 106% increased Armour 46% increased Physical Damage taken This duplicates this staff's damage but also 40-50% more damage on you. This looks very interesting and since my previous guy died yesterday, I may start a guy using this staff today. As I mentioned, will take speed nodes instead of damage nodes. Will also make it based on EVASION instead of armor, to mitigate the drawback of that helm. Really... on a 40 DPS weapon and 1500%+ inc build, you NEED that helmet!. Will follow this tree - 120 point Staff STR/DEX balance Tree Stats: +323 to Strength (potential 500+ with gear) +273 to Dexterity (potential 450+ with gear) Defense +275.5 to maximum Life 137% increased maximum Life 6.3% of Life Regenerated per Second +50 to Evasion Rating 64% increased Evasion Rating and Armour 178.6% increased Evasion Rating +24% to all Elemental Resistances 13% additional Block Chance With Staves 40% Chance to Dodge Melee 80% Chance to Dodge Projectiles 30% Chance to Dodge Spell Damage Offense 260% increased Melee Physical Damage 57% increased Attack Speed 140% increased Critical Strike Chance 25% increased Critical Strike Multiplier Will keep you posted on progression. " Interesting take! As my initial post states, it's true you will need lots of flat phys dmg, since I play beyond HC, i opted for Bringer of Rain helmet instead of Abyssus, both have nice flat phys dmg, I also have 2 rings and amulet with flat phys and meginors girdle :) And quick look to your skill tree, to me it seems you are wasting lots of points here and there, and you dont take 30 str nodes (which are biggest dmg nodes for this build), also you dont take templar hp/str nodes, they are huge too! :) Last edited by blaineh on Sep 11, 2014, 12:31:22 PM

BoR costs more than all my wealth combined (I played for a total of 3 months ever, always in HC leagues). My guy is started - Kung_Fu_Stick! Yes, it didn't fit. GGG doesn't let me take 160 passives, like I Wanted.... hhahaa It will need some fine tune... but I have time. " Haha, that's the spirit! Best advice is, take HP nodes, travel to them since you get dmg from normal str nodes too :) when you have lots of hp first, it will become easier to get levels later and get dmg then :) | |
