One of the things that I always hated about Diablo II was that gems took so long to transmute up to their highest level that you felt guilty using them at lower levels. This system avoids that entirely and I don't think it would be fair too have a penalty within the same character for swapping them out, since whenever you upgrade your weapon you would move the gem with it. However once you trade with someone I like the idea of having the gem set back to the beginning of its level, although I don't see why they should bother to add it in, other than to make trading values more constant (meaning a gem that is just about to level would be worth more than one that just leveled, if they are currently the same level) | |
I common fix I have seen in games is to add a silhouette (like a blue border) around the characters in the game. They used this in Torchlight, although I think for this game it would be better to have the walls become transparent when the character enters their view. | Thread: Walls and Camera angels |
it is also worth noting that from a business perspective getting in people who have not been following this through the entire dev will limit the amount of "fanboy" beta testers, and possibly yield better feedback from their beta testing, since there will be people who are more unbiased about it all, and don't feel obligated to praise it even if there are things they don't like about it |
